The Clockwinder

A reverse applique cyanotype work using repurposed cotton, lace tablecloth, rope, threads and natural onion dye. 

The Clockwinder is inspired by the old wife's tale that only one person should wind the clock. What happens therefore when that person dies? Does a new clockwinder take their place? 

The music and words were inspired by an early morning run watching a sunrise and meeting an old man. We watched together and I was struck with the sadness of ever having to leave such a beautiful world.
